Hi, going red is a choice and if you think that your coloring will look nice with it, then go for it. Perhaps you may want to use a semi permanent color like natural instincts - in case you don’t like it, it will wash out in a month or so.

Hi! Thanks for the nice tips!
If my hair is dark brown, is it okay to go for a dark red colour? In terms of, make my natural colour a tiny bit lighter and give it a nice and red-orangey shine and colour…

Hi, thanks so much for your kind compliment! I am not a professional hairstylist, nor did I go to beauty school - I’m simply sharing my practical experiences and knowledge that I’ve learned over the years from doing my own hair and my friends’ hair. I learned what works and what doesn’t just from experience with different things. Health, fitness, and beauty have always been a passionate hobby/interest of mine. Thanks for your lovely comment :o)

Hi, it’s hard for me to say without seeing your skin tone or current hair color so I don’t want to tell you the wrong thing. Perhaps take a look at Natural Instincts in medium brown. I probably wouldn’t use dark brown because sometimes colors can appear darker and you can always use the darker one next time if you want it even darker. It washes out eventually because it is not a permanent color. Be sure to follow box directions carefully for best results.

Hi, that’s hard to say because I don’t know what you look like, but if you don’t want to go too radical why not try a light brown. Remember, 1 or 2 shades darker than your natural color is a good rule of thumb for your skin tone. Let me know what you decide :o)

Yes, I have died my hair plenty of times and I have once died my eyebrows. I am a dirty blonde and I want to go darker what would be a good color for me to go?

It is Acetic acid. But I don’t recommend you using it every day. only about once a week or so. If you have oily hair, you need a normalizing shampoo. Unless you have fine hair. then a volumizing shampoo would do the trick for removing the oil.

wow it seems very useful for hair. i hav a oily hair so i think it would work grt for my hair. by the way is that acetic or citric acid? coz in my shampoo i found something citric acid thats why confused..

  20. RoyalHairdresser says:

    A product does not …
A product does not necessarily have to be labeled as a clarifying shampoo for it to do the trick. Check the ingredient label on the back of any shampoo for the presence and location of acetic acid. The closer to the top of the list, the more it contains. Any shampoo product that contains acetic acid will act as a clarifying shampoo. The key to keeping buildup at bay is to use a different shampoo than your daily product at periodic intervals

  21. RoyalHairdresser says:

    Clarifying shampoo …
Clarifying shampoo is not known for its conditioning abilities. In fact, while clarifying shampoo is great for aiding in the removal of unwanted buildup of oil, styling products, and other grime, it can dry the hair out if over used. Most stylists recommend cleansing oily hair with a clarifying shampoo once a week and dry hair once every two to three weeks.

  22. RoyalHairdresser says:

    Periodic use of a …
Periodic use of a clarifying shampoo will help remove the buildup and provide the hair with a clean start.

Most clarifying shampoo products contain acetic acid. A chemical compound, though mild as far as acid goes, is known for its de-scaling abilities. Acetic acid is found in vinegar, which everyone knows is good for removing scale buildup in coffee pots, tea kettles, and other household objects. Similarly, the acetic acid found in clarifying shampoo aids in removing buildup found on hair.

    Hi there, thanks …
Hi there, thanks for your video. I tried home colouring last December and it turned out terrible. I bought a colour called “gold brown” from the 10min range from L’Oreal. It looked most like my natural colour with a bit of “gold” shimmer. It turned my hair red black. I was in shock. Didn’t fade forever. Home colouring isn’t for everybody it seems :(

  25. RoyalHairdresser says:

    False…You can …
False…You can shampoo your hair before coloring but you must NOT manipulate the scalp. Manipulating the scalp is what causes the burning of the scalp. Actually if you are on any kind of medication or use alot of styling products it is good to use a clarifying shampoo before coloring. Towel dry the hair. Then you can apply the color to damp hair (not wet).
