I don't really wear much now but when I go into 8th grade I want to start wearing some light makeup beacause like everyone does now. I don't want to look like a slut but I also want to look more mature. I have light brown/dirty blonde long hair and my skin tone is pretty tan but kind of light also. And I have blue eyes. Does anyone have any tips on how much and what type of makeup and makeup techniques I could start using?

I'm 13 too, and going into 8th grade.
You're right, everyone is beginning to wear makeup now…
You need a little eyeliner, but don't make it really dramatic.
You should also wear a medium pinkish blush…
Maybe a shimmery lip gloss if you want.
And maybe, a little bit of eyeshadow, but again, don't make it too dramatic. Just experiment and see what you think looks the best on you.
Hope I helped

Just start playing with different shades of makeup to see what looks good on you.
I would suggest that since you are just starting out, dont wear to much until you get better at it.

well im 13 and i pretty much match your description. expect my hair is a different color cause i dyed it, but im dying it back blondeish. but anyways i wear light makeup. this what i wear everyday.
1) foundation [dont use if you dont have blemishes to cover up]
2) eyeliner [everyone wears it so its not slutty.]
3) light brown kinda gold eyeshadow [it looks good on the blue eyes. i get mine from wet and wild, dont know the exact name of the color]
4)mascara (only wear if you have straight eyelashes or if you wear eyeshadow that day.]

My best advice would be to expiriment!
We can't really tell you what would look best on you, but if you try out different colors, different products and different looks, then you'll surely find something that totally suits you.
The first makeup I started wearing was just some lip gloss that was my favourite shade of shimmery pink, and some brown mascara. As you get older you'll probably start to wear more, and you'll know how to apply it better. Have fun with it also. If you really want a "tip", to make your cheek bones stand out, apply a bronzer or a shimmery light blush on your cheekbones and a tiny bit on your forhead and the top of your nose. That's my favourite technique anyways, if you want to know anything else you can email me..brianna.tipping@yahoo.ca

I wear a little eyeliner and mascara, then a little cover-up when I have a pimple.

Hey there…
Sunscreen, Lip gloss, Light eyeshadow for a bright eyes…and also for a sexy look and it will match with ur blue eyes too….Mascare..definetely..!!
If u have imperfection on skin or want a flawless skin…then some powder…but no foundation…it will be obvious and makes u look like u tryin too hard to be pretty or "slut"(in ur words lol)…
Hope it helps

Ok. Soo I totally agre with you on the slutty thing. If you wear to much make up everyone will make fun of you so be careful. For you I would wear some power foundation. Not to much because that would make it look cakey. Make sure you get the right color for your skin because once mine was to dark and I look soo stupid. Brown is a good color for eyeshadow for blue eyes. Its makes then standout. Blue can make them stand out but bright colors like blue and green make you look like a hooker. I would wear some mascara. And maybe a little eye liner. If you have small eyes dont put it on the bottom, only on the top or else it will make them look even smaller. Also to make your eyes look bigger you can put it only from the middle to the outer corner of your eye. For big eyes you can do what ever with eyeliner.
Sorry this was soo long.
Good luck hope it helped.

I wear dark brown eyeliner - I love it! My blue eyes POP! Keep your eyeshadow natural, find a colour that matches your skin tone or is just a little lighter to add that little sparkle of prettiness =]
And use coral pink or nude lipglosses. Or clear.
Keep it simple!
And you can use powder to hide any blemishes.
Good luck in grade 8! I'm going into the same grade - little nervous… lol

Heres what i did when i was in 8th grade,
look 1)Brown eyeliner on the bottom lash line. And black on the very inner rim. The line before the lashline. Then i put some natural colored eyeshadow on..tanish color. To finish it off i used chapstick and some purplish pink blush.
That was in the beginning it made my eyes really stand out.
look 2)Then i moved to a thick heavy eyeliner on the inner rims. It was so thick that it went to the lash line. Then i put a little bit on the top lash line. Finished off with aqua eyeshadow. that also made eyes pop but the blue was a bit tacky. You dont want it all one color but sorta sheer color is best.
look 3)At the end of the year and this is the one i suggest.
A little bit of purple eyeliner. All the way around the eye.
Walmart makes a cheap brand of eyeliner and the purple in that is amazing. Then i take some purpleish eyeshadow its a bit creamy and i blend it into the upper lash line and all the way across the lid. Mixing the shadow and liner together.
Then i use a face powder thats lighter than my skin tone. But not much lighter one or two shades. I apply that to the cheek bones and under the eye to get rid of any imperfections.
Then chapstick.
Try one or all of my looks.
Also foundation makes a great canvas.

experience with the same color hair eyes and skin tone
you shouldnt be wearing make up just because everyone esle is hun!
but since you're 13, you dont want anything too extreme. so i say get some tinted moisturizer (nuetrogena has a great one, you can get it at any drug store), natural pink or nude gloss or lipstick (nothing glittery), some blush on the apples of your cheeks. (heres a tip to get the best color blush for you skin tone: pinch the inside of your arm, and whatever color pink it turns to is the color blush you should use). Also mascara, either in brown black, or just basic black. Black eyeliner on just the waterline of your eye.
and thats pretty much it! you'll look lovely without trying too hard. :]

Yeah. See, I'm exactly like you. I'm 13, and going into the 8th grade. Except, I have really dark brown hair and really dark brown eyes. Lol.
While everyone's still stuck on the "smokey-eye" effect (you've heard of that, right?), the newest effect for the fall is a golden color. Try UrbanDecay Eyeshadow in Honey ($18), NARS Cream Blush in Gold Member ($24), and/or a pink-y lipgloss with hints of gold in it like Bodyography Tarte Icon Dual Lip Gloss Baby Pink With Gold Shimmer, UrbanDecay UltraGlide Lip Gloss in Lust or Heat, and to add to all that: any NARS Bronzing Powder (all $29) or NARS Body Glow ($59).
If you don't want products this expensive, I suggest you go to your local drugstore instead of stores like Sephora and The Body Shop and such.
Maybelline, Neutrogena, and Almay are all really good brands.
Or, if you want to keep it super simple, use Neutrogena Natural Volume (it's really good, and I have really short eyelashes, so…=D), Burt's Bees Lip Balm, Bath & Body Works Lip Gloss in Plum Mint…if you don't like mint, try Kiehl's Lip Gloss in Pink Rider, and just a little bit of blush. You don't want your cheeks to look like they've been slapped, do you? Lol!
Just wondering, what are you considered at school? Prep? Quiet? Smart? Sorry for sounding so nosy. Just wondering.

Dont do things just coz everybody does it…

Im 14 and im into the really dark makeup, i get called
a scene kid alot, but i didnt do it to look like everyone
else, or to look like a slut, i do it because i like it and its
my style.
Check magazines and if you find something you like,
try it. As a 13 year old, you should wear too much makeup.
Because when you get older, it will escalate, meaning
you will use more and more.
My best suggestion, and this is what i did when i started
using makeup, is to go to a mall, with professional make
up artists and ask them to apply makeup on you, but
you need to tell them specifically what kind, or else they
will just give you alot of makeup and expect you to buy
it all.

Ask your mom if she will buy you something along the lines of a Nars Multiple stick (sephora.com). Chanel has good ones too. This is one color that you can use as a lip color, a blush, and an eyeshadow if you'd like. This will give you that allover, natural looking "glow". One coat of brown or black mascara on your top lashes and you'll be set.

Your new look should be something that flatters you so you don't look like a slut. Well, first curl your eyelashes and apply 2 coats of MAC zoom lash mascara. Then line your eyes with Clinique eyeliner. Apply lip gloss freely. Get the ones from MAC. Apply blush for an innocent charm like the ones from NARS. Just apply in a comma shape while smiling and brush on extra on the apples of your cheeks. Don't wear eyeshadow, powders, foundations, or concealers because they just make your already perfect skin look weird.

emphasize your eyes. as a general rule, those with blue eyes should look for eye makeup in gray, violet, taupe, purple, and deep blue. you could also try using a dark shade of blue will actually bring out the more natural blue tones in your eyes; giving you a brighter and more vibrant look.
if you are looking for an edgier or more dramatic evening look, mixing black liner with a bright blue will give you a classic smoky effect. you can also throw in some silver, fuschia, or turquoise if you are going out and want a funky nighttime feel.
violets and lavenders are most recommended if you have a combination of baby blues and blonde hair. this is because a light purple is the most flattering for most blondes who tend to have fairer skin than those with darker hair.
you can use violet on the creases of your eyelids as well as on the lid in general. a lighter lavender above the crease will give you a more dramatic look for evenings. more neutral colors are ideal for daytime, but it's always fun to wear purple no matter what the time or season!
tans and browns can flatter the shape and shade of your eyes without overpowering your hair or other features. in the evenings, adding a gold shimmer is a great finishing touch for those with gorgeous, fiery hair and contrasting blue eyes.
i would keep your lips simple with a natural looking gloss, that way you can have a bit more fun with your eye make-up.
hope this helps
