What makeup do you suggest for someone who is just starting to use makeup?

Im 13 and i dont wear hardly any makeup but i want to start wearing more. What do you suggest for me?

The Answer by Whats Wrong With You? :

Well, if your just starting out i would suggest that you take the basics:
Mascara
blush or bronzer
lip gloss or lipstick (id say tinted lipgloss ;) )

If you are doing this to look pretty then:
all of the above PLUS:
light brown eyeliner
neutral eyeshadow

If you have like things you want to hide like pimples or dark circles
concealor
skin tone matching powder.

Side Notes:
because you are just starting i think that you should go easy on the makeup and then slowly start to get further into it.
i would suggest you using an eyeliner brush and a brown eyeshadow. that way you can moderate the intensity and thickness easier and eyeshadow is more subtle. dont go into the blacks and dark colors just yet i would say.
Neutral eyeshadow meaning
sandy
light brown
goldish
etc…
dont go too heavy on the blush or bronzer because you may end up looking like a clown..or malibu barbie.
your concealer should be easily blendable so it doesnt look like you have dots all over your face or an uneven skin tone.
the powder should match your skin tone exactly. you may not think it is making any difference but thats the beauty of it! that means that you got the perfect powder.if it isnt making any difference, trash it. whats the point in keeping it?

My Recomendations:
Mascara: Cover girl lash blast in black (waterproof is neato!)
Eyeliner Brush: Sometimes the eyeliner brushes they sell can be too thick. You could probably just go to Michaels and pick out a little skinny brush, thats what i had to do! :)
Concealor: I love the Loreal bare minerals stuff its cool and really works really well.
go with your gut and good luck.

(i only put the stuff i buy from drugstores up their but if you want to go for something more expensive like chanel = <3 or clinique or bare minerals or something they usually have a lady that will help you and i dont know how far away from a department store or mall you are but drugstores are pretty much universal.)
Good Luck!

Avoid dark black eyeliner and mascara, keep it fresh and light, brownish fleshy tones, light pinks, no heavy lipstick. Just keep it light and fun, keeps your skin healthier and younger looking as you grown up.

I started out with mascara and eyeshadow. It is the easiet to apply and you can learn some more techniques. Once you get more steady handed move to eye liner.

start with just a little eyeliner, lipgloss, and concealer if you need it. I don’t recommend foundation for young teens (I’m 14 and i don’t use it) and if you want a light shade of eyeshadow. sooo many girls at my school this year are putting on pink or blue eyeshadow and it looks suuuuper tacky. so don’t apply a lot. even if its a pretty color.

Some powder cheek color and maybe a little bit of eyeliner or very little mascara. What ever you do or don’t do, moisturize everyday including your neck and face. It is the best thing you can do to keep your skin young and wrinkle free.

Try going to a Clinique counter at the department store.

Ask them for a natural look and a more dramatic look.

Then you can go to your local drug store and see what they have. Don’t let the cosmetic gals bully you into spending too much when all you probably need is:

lip gloss or natural looking lipstick
brown mascara/black if you have black or dark brown hair–Note: just do upper lash
    Eyebrow comb/brush
If you line your eyes, just upper lids only. You don’t want to look old before your time. I am forty-four and some people think I’m as young as my adult son (twenty-four)

Neutrogena has awesome products too. Go to their site and take their evaluation test for products.

well i would say only use foundation if you really need to, like to cover up spots. as if you use it every day unessercairily it can clog pores. but if you do have quite bad spots occasionally use a concealer, and blend with your finger. you can wear concealer alone or under foundation, but don't cake the foundation on just brush a little over the spot. or you could use a little pressed powder.
so i'd suggest a light mineral foundation that won't clog your pores
or you might prefer a tinted moisturise which is also good for your skin
and a little mascara, it's best to invest in a good one that won't clump
a little blusher maybe, but make sure you don't put loads on, just brush a little on the apples of your cheeks
that would give you a more natural look
i would say to avoid all the eyeliner and liquid stuff until you get a bit more confident applying make up. also it would look weird if one minute you wear no make up then you have a ton on.
a little lip balm will keep your lips soft and also looks nice, like lipgloss but not as sticky.

also make sure that you remove all traces of make up before bed as if you don't, it can clog pores, and won't exactly give you a good complexion. use eye make up remover and a face wash suited to your face type, also exfoliate your face once a week or two weeks to remove dead skin cells and keep your complexion clear.
also to keep your lips soft, exfoliate them by using an old toothbrush and gently brush your lips, then apply lots of lip blam and leave to absorb. will leave your lips really gorgeous

    hope i helped you

    :D!

Stick with lipgloss. Pinks and peachy colors. And use dark brown eyeliner instead of black - black eyeliner has a tendency to look harsh and messy when you’re just learning. A good eyeliner to start with (as in, easy to apply) are Covergirl Perfect Point Plus eyeliners. They automatically sharpen and go on easy. Also there is a thing on the end to smudge. STick with the cheap stuff while you are learning.

Bobbi brown is really good at telling you what to wear. They make it look prettyand natural and knows what would look best for you. Just got to a department store and go to their make up counter. It can be a little pricy-but its good, wont clog pores, last a long time, so its a good investment- thats what i did when i was thirteen- i still buy some of the stuff they told me to use and I am 18 now so i definatly reccomend it-Good luck and remember natural is better- you dont want to look slutty

You should start with everything that a basic makeup kit should have:
    concealer
    foundation
    powder
    eyeliner
    lip gloss and lip balm
    and mascara

If you want to also use some eye shadow start off with neutral tones first
People usually think that makeup makes people age faster but it doesn’t it actually protects your skin. But you have to remember the most important rule when first starting to use makeup…LESS IS MORE :)

I am 13 also and i have only just started wearing make up to school. I find all suitible for school is foundation (not orange, find a natural colour) mascara (not too thick) and a cheap eyeliner(because they dont come out as dark) try to avoid liquid eyeliner.

Tinted mousturiser for your skin & a coat of brown mascara are really the basics. If you don’t have a natural flush to your skin then you could sweep a tiny bit of pale blush over your cheeks & if you want, add some nice lipgloss (:

    HI
i would recommend using natural collection from boots of 2true and miss sporty from superdrug as they are all quite gentle on the skin and designed for teenagers. They are also quite cheap which is a big bonus! Start with clear mascarra and lip gloss as it is quite subtle and good for skl then maybe some brown mascara as its not to heavy then possible some light foundation and subtle lip gloss.
Also try collection 2000 at superdrug
try a smear of Vaseline over you eyelids and lashes and this looks like a natural shine.
    Hope this helps

i am 14 and i wear non greasy foundation (because of blemishes and that) mascara and occasionally eyeshadow but light natural colours such as light browns.

if you have blotchy skin tones or blemishes (spots) then i would use foundation at a thin layer to cover your face but if you dont have anythink then stay away the less make-up the better. if you have pale features i would use mascara some eyeliner sometimes its not best to use black but brown because your eyes will look dark and heavy especially if you have biggish eyes like me and some lipgloss but dont go overboard with bright pinks somethink glossy and clear.

    hope this helps
